Within hours after the news of their May 18 engagement was all over the Internet, the two boarded a plane to meet up with Humphries' family. According to the NBA star who popped the question more than a week ago, the timing of the engagement was planned to occur just ahead of their trip. Instead of being jealous, soon-to-be matron of honor Khloe shouted her joy from her personal website blog.
'You have no idea how happy it makes me to be able to say this... Kim is engaged! It feels so good to finally let the secret out. We've been holding this in since last week!' Khloe also added: 'I had no idea I could keep such a big happy secret quiet for so long!' It's tough for ladies who live their lives in reality shows where virtually nothing is kept private from intrusive cameras, to keep a secret that big. It was reported that it could cost Kim and Kris up to $30,000 in yearly insurance premiums to cover the replacement cost of the engagement ring, said to be valued at $2,000,000. That didn't deter Kim from mingling with others getting out of Los Angeles for the Memorial Day weekend. There are plenty of photos that document Ms. Kardashian enduring the same airport security measures as the rest of us. Kim was even putting her belongings in plastic bins on the conveyor belt to be screened by TSA employees.
